The length of time and the cost of the program
also depends on what stage of change you are in.
Stages of change
 |
Pre-Contemplation (I don’t have a problem
that needs changing) |
 |
Contemplation (I have a problem but I am not
ready to do anything about it) |
 |
Preparation ( I know I have a problem but I
am not sure how to be successful changing) |
 |
Action (I am making some changes but I need
help to achieve my goal) |
 |
Maintenance (I have achieved my goal but I
need help keeping it going) |
 |
Relapse (I have slipped back into old
behaviors and need help getting started again) |
 |
Termination (I have achieved my goal and can
go on from here alone)
|
Your stage of change will determine some of the
intensity and techniques used in your treatment. Remember you can
